SoE Staff Spotlight: Brittany Wolford, Tata-MIT Alliance

Brittany Wolford may have only joined the Tata-MIT Aliance in July, but she’s already made an incredible impact. In just a few months, she has spearheaded ten major projects. From day one, Brittany took charge, taught herself MIT’s unique processes, and quickly became the go-to person when something needs to be done right—and on time.

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a black top and gold hoop earrings, smiles at the camera. An American flag is visible in the background.

She’s consistently reliable, follows through on every commitment, and supports faculty and colleagues no matter how complex the task. And she does it all with a smile, a quick-witted joke, and often a plate of her famous miso cookies or another homemade treat. Brittany is the missing piece our team didn’t realize we needed until she arrived. She goes above and beyond, brings out the best in everyone around her, and is an absolute delight to work with.

Profile

Name:
Brittany Wolford

Job Title:
Program Administrator

Department, Lab, or Center:
Tata-MIT Alliance

How long have you worked at MIT
Since August 2025

Describe your role and responsibilities at MIT:
My role is to manage the programs within the Tata-MIT Alliance, with a large part being the Research Program. I get to work with over 35 faculty members and 6 international companies on making their research ideas a reality and it’s extremely rewarding.

What is your favorite part of your job:
My favorite part is connecting with the faculty, developing those relationships, and sharing the mutual love of  research and the overarching theme of what happens when we ask a question no one has the answer to yet and how do we find it? The act of scientific exploration and what that means for the future excites me because it reminds me that we can be more, we just have to ask the questions.

Do you have any hobbies or interests:
I love to be outdoors! I also have started to get into birdwatching, which admittedly for me is more about looking at the birds and less about knowing what they are or sound like (we’ll get there eventually haha!)
