Extraordinary Teaching and Mentoring Award
Extraordinary Teaching and Mentoring Award
Graduate students have a profound impact on the MIT community—mentoring peers, teaching undergraduate students, and fostering an environment where others can learn, discover, and thrive.
Established in 2006, the Graduate Student Extraordinary Teaching and Mentoring Award recognizes a graduate student who has demonstrated extraordinary mentoring as a teaching or research assistant.
Zane Schemmer, a PhD candidate in the MIT Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), is a recipient of 2026 Graduate Student Extraordinary Teaching and Mentoring Award.
