Faculty Award Spotlight
Robert S. Langer wins 2026 Robert A. Welch Award in Chemistry
The Welch Foundation has named Robert S. Langer as the 2026 recipient of the Welch Award in Chemistry. Dr. Langer is honored for pioneering discoveries at the intersection of chemistry and medicine that led to understanding how to control the release of therapeutic macromolecules through materials and how to create new tissues and organs.

Elazer Edelman receives the 2026-2027 Killian Award
The professor of medical engineering and science is recognized for his work at the interface of engineering, science, and medicine. In addition to helping develop cardiovascular stents, he has made significant contributions to tissue engineering and to deciphering the fundamental biological processes underling cardiovascular disease.

Bose Award for Excellence in Teaching
The Bose Award for Excellence in Teaching is given annually to a faculty member whose contributions to education have been characterized by dedication, care, and creativity. Established in 1990, the award stands as a tribute to the late Amar Bose, a professor of electrical engineering and computer science and the founder of the Bose Corporation.
