This section of the MIT Engineering Web site features a series of questions submitted by visitors to our site, and answered by MIT Engineering faculty. The questions answered on this page cover all disciplines within the practice of engineering at MIT.
You can explore questions and answers by moving to the left and right across this page. Click any question for a brief summary answer; complete answers, often with images and links to related content, can be accessed from there.
To submit your own question to an MIT engineer, click here. Questions are submitted to our Communications department, who select questions to be answered and work with MIT faculty to write detailed answers. We can't answer all questions submitted, and it may take some time for answers to appear on the site. If your question is selected, we'll let you know.
