Applying for the Xerox Fellowship Program

In 2007, the Xerox Corporation and MIT formed a partnership to support the research of students in the School of Engineering. Supported by a $1 million grant from Xerox, the Xerox Fellowship Program provides financial support for a number of master’s and doctoral degree candidates annually, especially women and other groups traditionally underrepresented in engineering. The fellowship program is part of Xerox’s ongoing support of open innovation and collaborative research worldwide.

Xerox hopes to engage the Xerox Fellows, their faculty advisors, and other School of Engineering faculty through ongoing information exchange, including visits to Xerox by the fellows and associated faculty, and visits to MIT by Xerox scientists, engineers, and other personnel. Fellows are encouraged (but not required) to consider Xerox summer internships in the summer following their fellowship year. Fellowships are non-renewable.

Application instructions

Nominations for Xerox Fellowships are made to the Dean of Engineering by departments and divisions. The Dean will review and endorse the nominations, and forward them to Xerox, who will interview candidates and make the final selection.
