Applying for the MIT/CIMIT Medical Engineering Fellowship
How to Apply:
Every year the School of Engineering and the Center for Integration of Medicine & Innovative Technology (CIMIT) co-sponsor a multi-year graduate student fellowship at MIT. This award supports the work of engineering graduate students who wish to focus their Ph.D. studies on healthcare research.

Candidate requirements
- Graduate student must be in a Ph.D. program
- Academic excellence, willingness to collaborate, strong desire to solve complex medical engineering problems
- Nominated by an MIT faculty member through the student’s department

Nomination requirements
- Must be submitted by a department head (maximum of two candidates from a department)
- A letter of recommendation from an MIT faculty member who is familiar with the student’s talents and interests
- A one-page, student-written description of his or her research interests
- The student's CV

Deadline
- All nomination materials must be submitted to the Office of the Dean of Engineering by September 18, 2009.
The Dean of Engineering submits a short list of candidates to the MIT-CIMIT Medical Engineering Fellowship Award selection committee; finalists may be interviewed by the selection committee. Fellowship awards are presented annually in October.
